Terms of Service

1) Introduction

Free Signup Sheets provides tools to create simple group sign-up sheets for potlucks and events. These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including organizers and guests.

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Free Signup Sheets. If you are located in the EU or UK, you must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required in your country).

3) Your Use of the Service

You agree not to use the Service to:

• create or promote events involving illegal activity;
• send spam or abusive messages;
• upload harmful, violent, hateful, or obscene content;
• impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or reverse engineer the platform;
• collect email addresses or personal information for marketing without consent.

We may limit or terminate access to the Service for abuse, suspected fraud, or violation of these Terms.

4) Event Content & Ownership

You retain ownership of the content you create using the Service (“Event Content”), such as sheet titles, descriptions, and item names.

By using the Service, you grant Free Signup Sheets a limited license to:

• store and display your Event Content;
• process and show sign-up information to the organizer;
• send related emails and notifications to organizers and invitees;
• create backups for reliability and security.

We do not claim ownership of your Event Content and we do not sell your event or sign-up data.

5) Public Links

Sign-up sheets on Free Signup Sheets are accessed via unique, unguessable URLs. Anyone with the link may be able to view the sheet (and sign up, if allowed).

You are responsible for how and with whom your link is shared. We are not responsible if your link is forwarded or posted publicly.

6) Email Delivery & Limits

Free Signup Sheets may send emails on your behalf, including organizer links, guest confirmations, and updates.

You agree not to use the Service to send:

• unsolicited bulk commercial email (spam);
• harassing, offensive, or misleading messages.

To protect deliverability and system stability, we may limit email volume, throttle sending, or temporarily disable email sending for accounts showing unusual or abusive patterns.

7) Data Retention

• Sheet data: may be kept until the organizer deletes the sheet or it is removed under our retention rules.
• Signup data: is generally kept for the life of the sheet and deleted when the sheet is deleted.
• Backups/logs: limited-time backups and logs may persist for a period after deletion for reliability and security.

8) Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

9) Affiliate Links & Disclosures

Some pages on Free Signup Sheets include affiliate links to online retailers such as Amazon. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. These commissions help keep the service free.

Free Signup Sheets participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com and related sites.

• Prices, images, and availability are provided by Amazon or its APIs and may change at any time.

10) Third-Party Services

Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using the Service.

13) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Free Signup Sheets and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of:

• your use of the Service;
• your Event Content or communications;
• your violation of these Terms;
• your violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

14) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Where permitted by law, any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be handled in the courts located in Texas.

15) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
